The summer has gone by so quickly. It seems like yesterday people were buying plants and seeds getting ready to plant their gardens. Growing a garden takes time and effort, especially keeping the weeds under control and there are the bugs and wild animals whom love the new growth also. Keeping the weeds under control is much easier than the bugs and animals.
When the fruit and vegetables are ripe, it is time to harvest.
There is another harvest so much more important and less are eager to get the ground ready, plant the seed, keep the weeds out and keep watch over it so the enemy doesn't steal the seed.
Then He said to them (His Disciples),The Harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few, therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His Harvest.
Luke 10:2 (NKJV)
Salvation of souls is a priority with the Lord. That is why He paid that terrible price at Calvary that not one would perish.
Prayer must be the foundation on which the harvest is gathered, as well we must remember that it is Jesus Christ who is the Lord of the harvest. If there are no labourers the harvest cannot be gathered.
We believers are His labourers.
Ask the Lord to lay someone upon your heart to pray for. Keep praying and confessing the Word over that individual. We have to watch over that person ,keeping the weeds out and Satan from stealing the seed.. That is done by only prayer and confessing the Word over them. If you know who they are, maybe a phone call or a visit could help. That is not always possible, because it could be someone in another country. Then we pray, there are no distance in prayer. God has open every avenue we need to intercede for the lost.
Yes we all have our daily work to do. Let’s not get so caught up in our daily routine that we lay aside the most important thing on our Fathers heart and that is souls. Keep praying for souls, that will keep us busy until Jesus returns ,the reward will be GREAT.
Do you not say, There are still four months and then comes the harvest? Behold I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
36. And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.
John 4:35-36 (NKJV)
The harvest is ready now, we do not have to go far to see the need.
He who reaps receives wages.... wages are souls. The salvation of a soul will bring forth fruit forever and will be a credit to the sowers and reapers. That is for eternity what an investment. That alone should make you want to bring in souls for His Kingdom.
Work for the Lord while there is still time, because there will come a time when no man will work.
Remember the fields are white for harvest and the Lord is waiting on you and me. And He is coming soon.
Let’s not forget someone prayed for us when we were away from God.
We have to love everyone and pray that they will not be lost. That is the Lords heartbeat and it should be ours also.
